Job summary

Pickens County Library System is seeking a Children's Reference Assistant to support youth programs, assist patrons, and operate library services. The role includes opening/closing branches, supervising in the Librarian's absence, and guiding visitors to resources and computer use.

Responsibilities also cover handling inquiries, managing service desks, and maintaining records while collaborating with staff and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor degree or an Associate degree and related experience equivalent to four year degree.
• Must possess valid state driver’s license.
• Requires over two years and up to and including four years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, plans, and executes youth programming.
• Opens and closes assigned branch and performs related security procedures.
• In charge of branch library or department in the absence of supervising Librarian.
• Assists the public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Receives and responds to public inquiries, requests for assistance and complaints.
