Job summary

Weslacotx in Weslaco, TX seeks a Library Supervisor to lead the children's services team, maintain the children's book collection, and plan community events. This role works independently under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

The position requires a Master's degree in Library Science and at least two years of professional library experience. Must possess a valid state driver's license and is subject to ADA accommodations as needed.

• Plans, coordinates, and manages special events, special projects and one-time initiatives.
• Manages programming and planning; organizes events and calendars, plan and implements all Children's programs and activities.
• Manages and maintains Children's collection of materials; assists with budget and long-range planning; assists in seeking funding.
• Manages the children's area.
• Conducts outreach and represent the library at community events.
• Tracks program attendance, maintain records and assist with reporting.
• Performs related work as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's Degree in Library Science or related discipline.
• Two years of professional library or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
