Job summary

Empath Health, through Tidewell Hospice, seeks a PRN Children Grief Counselor to provide bereavement support for the Blue Butterfly program across SW Florida. You will conduct intake assessments, lead groups, and provide ongoing case management for children, teens, and families with compassion and professional care.

The role emphasizes multisite travel, licensed credentials within 90 days, and a commitment to Full Life Care. Join a mission-driven team delivering dignified, empathetic support.

Qualifications

• MSW from a CSWE-accredited school preferred; or Master’s degree in clinical counseling (mental health or marriage & family therapy) or Master’s in child life.
• Must hold Florida license or be license eligible (within 90 days): LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, RMHCI, RMFTI.
• At least one year of healthcare social work/counseling experience post-master’s internship.
• At least five years of counseling with children, adolescents, teens and families.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation and travel between multiple locations; provide proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments for eligibility and group readiness for Blue Butterfly program.
• Facilitate evening and weekend support groups for children and families; oversee group night execution.
• Provide ongoing case management, re-assessment and care plan updates.
• Deliver individual, group, and family grief counseling.
• Assist with events, crisis interventions, and camps for bereaved individuals.
