Empath Health is seeking a Children Grief Counselor for the Blue Butterfly program under Tidewell Hospice. The role provides bereavement and grief support to children, teens and families, including individual, group, and family counseling across multiple Florida locations.

Preferred MSW or clinical counseling degree, with licensure eligibility in Florida within 90 days of hire. Requires 1 year post-master’s healthcare experience and 5 years counseling children and families; bilingual skills are

Qualifications

• MSW preferred or equivalent clinical counseling degree.
• Florida license eligibility within 90 days of hire: LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or RMFTI/RCSWI equivalents.
• At least one year post-master’s social work/counseling experience in healthcare; five years counseling with children, adolescents, and families.
• Bilingual preferred; must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between locations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments to determine eligibility for grief support services and group readiness.
• Facilitate evening and weekend grief support groups for children, teens, and families.
• Provide ongoing case management and updated care plans for individuals and families.
• Deliver individual, group, and family grief counseling for the Blue Butterfly program; maintain connections with families between sessions.
• Assist with events, crises, and camps for bereaved individuals and curriculum planning.

(The one-year Masters level internship may meet this requirement).At least five years of counseling experience working with children, adolescents, teens and families.Bilingual preferredMust have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file.
