Job summary

Sticky Fingers Cooking is hiring a part-time After School Children's Cooking Teacher to inspire COOLinary curiosity in kids. classes run 2-5 PM on weekdays, on campus with flexible scheduling across Northern Colorado.

You will lead hands-on cooking activities, spark creativity, and prepare using provided curricula. A fingerprint background check is required; lifting 40 lbs and driving to schools is expected. Competitive pay and support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with kids of various ages and backgrounds.
• Available to teach 1 hour classes (2-5 PM on weekdays) 2-3 days a week.
• Arrive 20-30 minutes before class; commit to 4-12 weeks.
• Willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Lift up to 40 lbs and have a reliable vehicle to drive to schools.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on cooking classes for kids, teaching chopping, mixing and healthy recipes.
• Spark creativity with new ingredients, cuisines and cultures.
• Prepare for classes using provided curricula and shop for fresh ingredients.
• Create a fun, safe kitchen environment and be the face of fun for kids.

What You'll Do

• Lead Hands-On Cooking Classes: Teach kids how to chop, mix, measure, and create healthy, exciting recipes from around the world.
• Spark Creativity: Introduce kids to new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures in an engaging, interactive way.
• Stay Organized: Prepare for classes using provided curricula, shop for fresh ingredients, and set up fun, safe kitchen environments.
• Be the Face of Fun: Inspire and encourage kids as they gain confidence in the kitchen.

Who You Are

• Experienced in working with kids of various ages and backgrounds.
• Available to teach 1 hour classes (on campus 90+ mins) AT LEAST 2-3 days a week between 2-5 PM, Mondays- Fridays. Typically chef instructors only teach 1 class/day.
• Punctual, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of 8-14 kids. Must arrive on campus 20-30 minutes prior to scheduled class time. Varies per school.
• Able to commit to teaching sessions that run 4-12 weeks.
• Willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Lift up to 40 lbs to store and transport materials.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to drive.

  • Accrued Leave: Up to 48 hours of paid leave per year, for use of a variety of health- and safety-purposes, which employees "earn" at a rate of 1 hour of leave for 30 hours worked.
  • Public Health Emergency (PHE) Leave: Up to 80 hours of PHE-related leave when a PHE is declared.

A Day in the Life

As a Sticky Fingers Cooking® instructor, you'll travel to different schools in your area to bring "the kitchen" to kids. Using our tried-and-true recipes, you'll teach them essential cooking skills, food safety, and the history and culture behind each dish-all while fostering creativity and confidence. From slicing and dicing to learning about global cuisines, kids will have a blast in your classes, and so will you!
