Job summary

Community Counseling Center (CCC) in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech to support clients in a 16-bed residential facility. You will promote safety, assist with daily living tasks, and work with the treatment team in a trauma-informed framework.

Evening and overnight shifts are available with shift differentials; a high school diploma and a valid driver's license are required, plus CPR/First Aid and Pro-ACT certification are encouraged to ensure readiness for emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma/GED/HSE required.
  • Must hold Valid Driver's License and current auto insurance.
  • For MO residents: Class E license; IL residents: Class D license — obtain on start date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment.
  • Promote activities of daily living and self-care management for clients.
  • Teach functional living skills per the individual treatment plan.
  • Coordinate care with the treatment team.
  • Complete and chart client observations per policy.
  • Conduct checks of personal belongings, rooms, and grounds as required.
  • Ensure protective oversight and respond to medical emergencies or elopement per policy.
  • Intervene in behavioral health crises as needed, including seclusion/restraint as per policy.
  • Document according to clinical policies and procedures.
  • Transport clients in agency or personal vehicle as needed.
  • Maintain certification in Pro-ACT and CPR/First Aid.

Job description

Pay:

$18.38 - $20.78/hour (Depending on experience) + shift differentials

Floater Pay:

$19.59 - $21.99/hour

Community Counseling Center (CCC) offer's shift differentials for Behavioral Health Tech (BHT) Staff who work on Evening and Overnight shifts at its residential facilities.

Evening Shift: +$.50/hour per hour worked on Evenings.

Overnight Shift: +#1.00/hour per hour worked on overnights.

Shifts Available:
Full Time
Evening Shift:
  • 2:15pm - 10:45pm, Must be open to any day of the week including weekends
Floating Shift:
  • Shifts vary depending on program needs.
  • Must be able to work days, evenings, and overnights
Part - Time:
  • 6:15am - 2:45pm
  • 2:15pm - 10:45pm

Note: Must be open to any day of the week including weekends.

PRN Shift:
  • Typically 1 shift per week, any shift depending on need and your availability
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED/HSE
  • Must hold Valid Driver's License (Class E for Missouri or Class D for IL Residents - Obtain on start date) and current continuous auto insurance.
The Program:

Cottonwood is a 16 Bed Residential Treatment Facility serving children and adolescent patients. The program is intended for youth 7 - 18 years of age. The program offers an intensive residential treatment milieu and serves an alternative to hospitalization.

Job Duties:
  • Provide care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment based on a trauma informed approach.
  • Promote and educate clients regarding activities of daily living including household management (i.e., attending to bedroom, laundry, etc.) and self-care management (i.e., hygiene, grooming, medication, etc.) tasks and responsibilities.
  • Teach functional living skills such as anger management techniques, impulse control, social/communication skills, relaxation skills, emotional coping skills, etc. based on the client's individual treatment plan.
  • Collaborate closely with the treatment team to appropriately coordinate client care services.
  • Complete and chart client observations in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
  • Conduct ongoing checks; including personal belongings, room checks, and grounds checks based on agency policy and procedure.
  • Ensure protective oversight of clients, monitor the condition of clients, and follow agency policy and procedure regarding medical emergencies or elopement.
  • Intervene in behavioral health crisis situations, when needed, which may include use of seclusion and/or restrain interventions to prevent self-harm or harm to others.
  • Document according to clinical policies and procedures, DMH, CARF, and any other federal or state program per agency standards.
  • Based on need, provide seclusion and/or restraint interventions in accordance with Pro-Act guidelines and agency policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for transporting clients in agency and/or personal vehicle as deemed necessary and appropriate to meet program requirements.
  • Maintain certification in Pro-ACT and CPR/First Aid.
