Job summary

Victim Support in Cumbria is recruiting a Children Independent Sexual Violence Advisor for a full-time fixed-term maternity cover. The role involves home-based work with regular travel across the Cumberland area and requires a driving license and access to a vehicle.

You will complete risk and needs assessments, deliver one-to-one support to promote emotional wellbeing and recovery, and collaborate with criminal justice partners to ensure victims are heard and supported while following

Responsibilities

• Complete risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of victims in line with VS operating procedures.
• Deliver one‑to‑one interventions that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and recovery.
• Work closely with criminal justice process agencies and other partners to ensure that each victim is heard and their needs are prioritised.
• Proactively promote the service, raising awareness of services and working collaboratively with professionals to improve access to and quality of services for all victims of sexual violence, abuse or exploitation.
• Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, working with safeguarding leads and other agencies to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.
