Job summary

Victim Support in Cumbria is seeking an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to support high-risk victims of domestic abuse. You will work within our specialist services to identify risks and provide tailored crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy and practical support.

You will collaborate with other agencies within a multi-agency framework, including MARAC and local partners, raise awareness through training, and help keep service users safe.

Qualifications

• Experience in support and advocacy with domestic abuse victims is advantageous.
• Ability to prioritise work and manage competing demands while upholding values.
• Ideally holding Safe Lives IDVA accreditation or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support and advocacy to high-risk domestic abuse victims.
• Manage a caseload, assess risks, and deliver tailored safety planning and practical support.
• Collaborate with other agencies to help access services and keep clients safe.
• Work within a multi-agency framework including MARAC and local partnerships.
• Promote the service and raise awareness through training.
