Job summary

Victim Support is seeking an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to support high risk victims of domestic abuse in Cumbria. This part-time role (22.5 hours weekly) includes home working with travel across Cumbria and a focus on delivering high-quality advocacy and safety planning.

The role requires experience in supporting victims of domestic abuse and ideally SafeLives IDVA accreditation or equivalent qualification. The package includes flexible working, generous leave and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous.
• Ability to prioritise work and manage competing demands while upholding organisational values.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support and advocacy to victims of domestic abuse.
• Manage a caseload with risk and needs assessment, delivering tailored crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Work with other agencies and advocate to help service users access needed services.
• Operate within a multi-agency framework including MARAC and local partnerships for coordinated response.
• Promote the service and raise awareness through training delivery.
