Job summary

La Petite Academy in Gambrills, MD is seeking a Team Lead to guide classroom activities and curriculum while mentoring new teachers. You will communicate with families to support student progress and help lead the center when the Director or Assistant Director is away.

The role emphasizes managing daily care according to licensing rules, while promoting social, physical, and intellectual growth in preschool children. A strong background in licensed childcare is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility, leading a classroom, and implementing lesson plans.
• College credits toward Early Childhood Education or Child Development degree or a CDA preferred.
• Ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Teacher! Promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children in your care with classroom leadership.
• Communicator! Build relationships with families to promote child achievement and center success.
• Mentor! Assist with training and mentoring of new hires and fellow Teachers, creating engaging learning experiences.
• Leader! Assume Director or Assistant Director duties in absence, including opening and closing the school.
• Expert! Ensure daily care by following licensing guidelines and company standards.
