Job summary

La Petite Academy in Richmond, VA is seeking a Team Lead to guide classroom instruction and support families. You will promote children's social, physical, and intellectual growth while mentoring new staff and taking on leadership duties in the absence of directors.

The role emphasizes curriculum implementation, licensing compliance, and a positive, engaging learning environment for preschool children.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility, leading a classroom, and implementing lesson plans.
• College credits towards Early Childhood Education or Child Development degree or a CDA, preferred.
• Ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom management and curriculum implementation; instruction constitutes at least 50% of weekly schedule.
• Communicate with families to promote achievement and support center success.
• Mentor and train new hires and fellow teachers; create engaging learning experiences.
• Step in as Director or Assistant Director in absence; handle opening/closing duties.
• Ensure daily care of every child following licensing guidelines and company standards.
