Job summary

La Petite Academy in Hampton, VA is seeking a Team Lead to support children's development and lead classroom activities. You will promote social, physical, and intellectual growth while guiding curriculum implementation with substantial teaching time.

You will communicate with families to support student success, mentor new hires, and step in as Director or Assistant Director when needed, ensuring compliance with licensing guidelines and company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility, leading a classroom, and implementing lesson plans.
• College credits towards Early Childhood Education or Child Development degree or a CDA preferred.
• Ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children in your care and lead classroom management and curriculum implementation.
• Communicate and build relationships with families to support child achievement and center success.
• Mentor and train new hires and fellow Teachers as you create engaging learning experiences.
• Take on Director or Assistant Director duties in their absence, including opening and closing the school.
• Ensure daily care of children by following licensing guidelines and company standards.
