Job summary

Job description

Join an amazing team of educators at B’nai Jehudah Child Development Center, a partnership between the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City and The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. The center offers full-time preschool care for children ages 12 months through 2 years and full-time infant care for ages 6 weeks to 1 year.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and exciting learning environment, collaborating with teachers to supervise children, keep the classroom organized, and communicate with parents.

Schedule

• Part-time working Monday-Friday 12:30 pm–5:30 pm

Responsibilities

• Provide for the health and safety of all children in the school
• Treat children with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times
• Support teachers by implementing lesson plans, daily cleaning tasks, and supervising children
• Cultivate and maintain a positive relationship with parents
• Maintain KDHE requirements in classrooms at all times
• Attend training and professional development opportunities as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Experience working with children (Preferred)

Physical Requirements

Job requires frequent (2–5 hours per shift) standing, walking, carrying, and repetitive motions; occasional (up to 2 hours per shift) sitting, lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling, climbing, and stooping/crouching.
