Job summary

The Early Learning Resource Center is hiring a Family Specialist to manage a caseload for the ELRC subsidized childcare program in Allegheny County. You will conduct in-person and phone interviews to verify information, explain program policies, and determine eligibility for families.

You will support families in selecting a childcare provider, enroll them, and coordinate with Early Head Start, Head Start, and Pre-K Counts.

• Excellent customer service skills with professional interactions across cultures.

• Know ethics, principles, and procedures of customer service.
• Able to manage Outlook email and internet navigation.
• Strong data entry and PDF creation skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work tasks.
• Maintain electronic records per agency policies.
• Build effective relationships with families, staff, and agencies.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Explain ELRC services and childcare subsidies to families.
• Interview families to document and determine eligibility.
• Respond to inquiries within 24 hours by phone or email.
• Process applications and redeterminations accurately and timely.
• Assist families with selection and enrollment in childcare providers.
