Job summary

Concordia Place in Chicago, IL is seeking a Food Service Coordinator to plan weekly childcare menus and support classroom activities with nutrition-focused meals. This role includes potential hours as a substitute teacher across infants to preschoolers, under the Site Director’s supervision.

You will assist in planning, shopping, food preparation, and maintaining safety and cleanliness of the kitchen to support a healthy, nurturing environment for children and families.

Qualifications

• Experience planning weekly menus for childcare or food service.
• Knowledge of state health standards and kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus in line with state guidelines.
• Prepare weekly shopping list from cost-effective sources.
• Shop for groceries and supplies weekly or as needed.
• Put groceries away and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Submit invoices to the Director after shopping.
• Serve snacks and lunch to each classroom and monitor safety.
