Job summary

The role requires 1–2 years in food service, basic math for portioning, and relevant certifications; CACFP trainings are mandatory. Shift 6:30am–1:30pm.

Qualifications

• 1 – 2 years of professional experience in food service; preferably in child care or institutional setting.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
• Infant/child CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification.
• MERIT Account & STARS ID Required.
• Must clear full background check through MERIT.
• Provide a negative TB Test.
• Updated Food Handlers Card.
• Safe Sleep Certification.
• Mandated Reporter - Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse Certification.
• CACFP Online Training Courses – required outside of working hours.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
• Prepare, cook and deliver meals.
• Comply with established sanitation/health standards and personal hygiene; observing proper food preparation and handing techniques according to state licensing requirements.
• Storing food properly and safely by marking dates and items
• Reporting necessary equipment repair and maintenance.
• Order food and related supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
• Correctly preparing all food served following standardized recipes and special diet orders
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Attend all CACFP Trainings & Workshops
