Job summary

Acquire4Hire is seeking a dependable Part-Time Kitchen Coordinator to support our childcare program. You will prepare meals, follow safety rules, and keep the kitchen clean and organized in a day-to-day role.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. You will work with teachers and staff to ensure nutritious meals and proper food handling, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work Monday through Friday.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily kitchen responsibilities.
• Strong cleaning, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes, portion sizes, and written instructions.
• Must follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Willingness to complete required training and meet Wisconsin childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to planned menus and serving sizes.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and childcare program requirements.
• Keep the kitchen, counters, appliances, refrigerator, freezer, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Wash dishes and sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor inventory and assist Director with ordering supplies.
• Label, date, rotate, and store food properly.
• Check expiration dates and help reduce waste.
• Follow procedures for allergies and special dietary needs.
• Complete required food service paperwork and records accurately.
• Assist with meal prep for upcoming meals and snacks.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and the Director.
• Follow all center policies and state licensing requirements.

About This Role

We are looking for a dependable and organized Part-Time Kitchen Coordinator to join our childcare team. This position plays an important role in making sure our children receive nutritious meals and snacks each day while keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and organized.

The ideal person will enjoy working in a childcare environment, be able to work independently, and take pride in maintaining a clean and well-run kitchen.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, approximately 7:30 AM-12:30 PM

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to our planned menus and required serving sizes.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and childcare food program requirements.
• Keep the kitchen, counters, appliances, refrigerator, freezer, and food storage areas clean and organized.
• Wash dishes and properly sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces.
• Check food inventory and let the Director know when supplies need to be ordered.
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food.
• Monitor expiration dates and help reduce food waste.
• Follow procedures for food allergies and special dietary needs.
• Complete required food service paperwork and records accurately.
• Help with food preparation for upcoming meals and snacks.
• Work cooperatively with teachers, staff, and the Director.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in a kitchen, school, childcare center, restaurant, or food service setting.
• Experience preparing meals for groups of children.
• Knowledge of the CACFP/Food Program requirements.
• Food safety or food-handling training.
• Experience with inventory, meal planning, or ordering food and kitchen supplies.
• Someone who enjoys being part of a positive, team-oriented childcare environment.
