Job summary

YMCA of the North is seeking a Kitchen Coordinator to support our childcare programs by ensuring participants receive healthy, nutritious meals in a safe and well-maintained environment. This role plays a key part in daily operations, such as maintaining kitchen standards, managing food inventory, tracking dietary needs, and ensuring CACFP and health regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and able to obtain Food Safe Certification.
• Knowledge of kitchen procedures and safe food handling.
• Effective interpersonal communication and teamwork.
• Desire to work with childcare staff.
• Dedication to the YMCA mission.

Responsibilities

• Serve healthy meals for participants; meals are prepared and delivered by a catering company.
• Assist with menu planning to meet nutrition and dietary needs.
• Update allergy/intolerance/parent preference charts for classrooms and kitchen.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in all kitchen areas.
• Assist with purchasing and inventory of food supplies.
• Maintain CACFP and Minnesota Department of Health records for meals and snacks.
• May assist classroom staff to maintain staff-to-child ratios.
• Attend monthly team meetings and trainings.
