Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division seeks a Child Care Worker for the Oakbrook Terrace Corps. You will oversee nursery and gym care, assist in planning age-appropriate activities for children from infants to elementary age, and recommend suitable games and resources to ensure a wholesome experience.

You will attend child safety trainings (CPR, First Aid, Safe from Harm), maintain program materials, encourage parent involvement, and train helpers as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the 9th grade.
• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Spanish language fluency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee care of children in nursery or gym during activities.
• Assist to plan age-appropriate programs for toddlers to elementary-aged children.
• Recommend games, toys, books, and resources for a wholesome experience.
• Attend trainings for child safety (CPR, First Aid, Safe from Harm).
• Maintain supplies of resource materials for the program.
• Promote parent participation and recruit trained helpers.
• Facilitate training for childcare helpers.
• All other duties as assigned.
