Job summary

Little People Learning Center in Danbury, CT is seeking an experienced Childcare Center Director to lead daily operations, support staff, and partner with families while maintaining full enrollment and high-quality standards.

The role requires directing staff, ensuring OEC licensing compliance, meeting NAEYC standards, and building positive relationships with families. This hands-on leader ensures classrooms are properly staffed and enrollment is sustained.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Childcare Director or Assistant Director.
• Knowledge of NAEYC standards.
• Experience with Early Start CT or similar state-funded programs.
• Understanding of Connecticut OEC licensing regulations.
• Proven ability to maintain and grow enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily center operations and ensure compliance with OEC regulations.
• Lead and support staff to meet licensing, Early Start, and NAEYC standards.
• Monitor enrollment, manage waitlists, and support family retention.
• Build positive, professional relationships with families.
• Ensure classrooms are fully staffed and in ratio at all times.
• Maintain organized staff and child files.
• Prepare for licensing visits, monitoring reviews, and accreditation requirements.
• Partner with ownership on operational goals and center performance.
