Job summary

Little People Learning Center in Danbury, CT is seeking an experienced, hands-on Childcare Center Director to lead daily operations, support staff, partner with families, and maintain full enrollment while upholding high-quality early education standards. The role requires overseeing licensing compliance, staff scheduling, enrollment management, and strong family communication.

You will work with ownership to meet accreditation goals and ensure the center remains compliant with OEC and Early

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Childcare Director or Assistant Director
• Strong knowledge of NAEYC standards
• Experience with Early Start CT or similar state-funded programs
• Understanding of CT OEC licensing regulations
• Proven ability to maintain and grow enrollment
• Excellent parent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lead, supervise, and support teaching staff
• Experience with staffing, ratios, scheduling, and documentation
• CPR & MED CERT. or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily center operations and ensure compliance with OEC regulations
• Lead and support staff to meet licensing, Early Start, and NAEYC standards
• Monitor enrollment, manage waitlists, and support family retention
• Build positive, professional relationships with families
• Ensure classrooms are fully staffed and in ratio at all times
• Maintain organized staff and child files
• Prepare for licensing visits, monitoring reviews, and accreditation requirements
• Partner with ownership on operational goals and center performance
