Job summary

Inspire Early Education in Dover, PA is seeking a full-time cook to lead daily food preparation for children, including meals and snacks with dietary considerations. You will manage inventory, food safety logs, and align with health regulations while supporting field trips and events.

Ideal candidates bring valid certification, a healthcare-conscious mindset, and collaboration skills to work with daycare teams.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Clear background checks and up-to-date health assessments.
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 45 pounds.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cooking, baking, and food preparation.
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including temperature logs.
• Prepare meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs.
• Maintain children’s allergy lists regularly.
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies and replenishing dishware and cookware.
• Follow food portioning guidelines and maintain inventory.
• Comply with health regulations and company best practices.
• Maintain kitchen cleaning schedule (daily/weekly/monthly).
• Occasionally prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events.
• Duties may change to meet daycare needs.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for cooking, baking, and food preparation
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs.
• Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
• Maintain children’s allergy list regularly.
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies and replenishing dishware and cookware
• Follow food portioning guidelines and maintain appropriate food inventory
• Complies with all health regulations and the company’s best practices
• Upkeep kitchen cleaning schedule, including dishwashing, daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Occasionally required to prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events.
• Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time on the needs of the daycare centers.

Who You Are

Required
