Job summary

Maple Leaf Childcare Center – Malta North, Ballston Spa, NY 12020, is seeking a caring Cook to support daily food preparation and overall kitchen operations for the children in our care.

You will follow safety rules, plan menus, manage inventory, and assist staff while helping during classroom breaks and other duties as assigned by the center administrator. This role emphasizes teamwork, a positive attitude, and a passion for young learners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe certification preferred; Maple Leaf will certify if needed.
• Experience in a childcare setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Positive attitude and passion for working with children.
• Ability to pass background and health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations and training.
• Prepare daily meals and snacks for children, accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies.
• Manage inventory and purchase ingredients and supplies.
• Support team members by contributing energy and flexibility.
• Step into classrooms to support staff during breaks when needed.
• Perform duties as needed by the center administrator.

What You’ll Be Doing

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED ( Required )
• ServSafe certification is preferred but not required to start. Maple Leaf will certify any cooks that do not hold a valid ServSafe certification.
