Job summary

Inspire Early Education in Dover, PA is seeking a dedicated cook to support daily meal preparation for children, including snacks and special dietary needs.

You will manage food storage, temperature logs, ordering of supplies, and kitchen cleanliness, working with a collaborative team to deliver nutritious meals.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Clear background checks and up-to-date health assessments.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively.

Responsibilities

• Cook, bake, and prepare food for children.
• Maintain safe food storage and temperature logs.

• Keep allergy list updated and accurate.
• Weekly food ordering and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and company practices.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and dishwashing duties.

We're currently seeking experienced and caring individuals to join our team as cooks. As a cook, you will assist in the overall management of day-to-day operations of all food preparation and cooking in the kitchen.

What You'll Do:

• Responsible for cooking, baking, and food preparation
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs.
• Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
• Maintain children's allergy list regularly.
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies and replenishing dishware and cookware
• Follow food portioning guidelines and maintain appropriate food inventory
• Complies with all health regulations and the company’s best practices
• Upkeep kitchen cleaning schedule, including dishwashing, daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Occasionally required to prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events.
• Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time on the needs of the daycare centers.

Who You Are

Required:

• Valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willing to get
• Clear background checks and up-to-date health assessments.
• Ability to push, pull and lift to 45 pounds
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively.
