The Childcare Attendant cares for children aged 6 weeks to 8 years in YMCA drop-in childcare programs.

Salary starts at $16.20 per hour, with flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth within the organization.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Implement daily developmentally appropriate activities in collaboration with peers
• Supervise and lead activity areas
• Assist in planning and preparing activities
• Organize and set up materials and supplies
• Sanitize toys and equipment
• Support YMCA mission and center operations as needed
• Maintain proper child-to-staff ratios
• Have prior experience working with children
• Demonstrate passion and commitment to YMCA’s mission and vision
• Build rapport with children, parents, and families from diverse backgrounds

Child Abuse Prevention:

• Report hazards or safety concerns to your supervisor
• Follow policies and procedures to ensure child safety

• Complete required child abuse prevention training
