Job summary

The Growing Years of Apex is seeking an Assistant Teacher to work with infants, two-year-olds and preschoolers in a licensed childcare center. You will assist the lead teacher and help implement activities that support overall child development, within our proven philosophy and goals.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma or GED, completion of EDU 119 or college-level early childhood coursework, and the ability to pass background checks. Previous childcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all classroom duties per center philosophy.
• Implement activities fostering emotional, social, cognitive, creative and physical development.
• Take direction and accept feedback for program improvements.
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for children.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around small children and lift up to 40 lbs.

The Growing Years of Apex is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to work with the following age groups:

• Infants
• Two's
• Preschool

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks We require completion of EDU 119 or college level early childhood education coursework. A plus if you have previous childcare experience working directly with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Compensation: $15-$18/hr based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
