Job summary

The Growing Years in Charlotte is seeking dedicated Assistant Teachers for Young Preschool. You will support the lead teacher, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and help maintain a safe, nurturing classroom aligned with our center’s philosophy.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and EDU 119 credentials, plus the ability to pass background checks. Childcare experience is a plus; we offer competitive pay and a strong benefits package to teammates.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in alignment with the center’s philosophy and goals.

• Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around young children and lift up to 40 lbs.

The Growing Years - Discovery in Charlotte is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support the following age groups: Young Preschool

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma, completion of early childhood education credentials/EDU 119, and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9am-6pm

Compensation: $16-18/hr, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities for Assistant Teachers:

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
