Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA seeks a Child Watch Attendant to care for members' children and oversee the service development. The role supports development of children, maintains a clean, safe play area, and ensures positive interactions with families.

Requirements include CPR/First Aid/AED, YMCA certifications, and 1–2 years experience. The position is on-site with an hourly compensation range typical for the region.

Qualifications

• One to two years related experience preferred.
• Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, healthful environment and orderly areas.
• Sanitize toys weekly and when needed.
• Provide age-appropriate materials and activities.
• Support children’s social-emotional development and positive guidance.
• Assist with self-help tasks (dressing, toileting, handwashing, eating).
• Use group management techniques and supervise activities.
• Communicate with families in a friendly manner.
