Position Summary:
Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of classroom activities. The Childcare Activity Leader is responsible for supporting children's social, physical, spiritual, and mental development in the program, before and after school, prioritizing safety and well-being.

Essential Functions:
- Develops and implements weekly lesson plans tailored to children's needs and developmental levels.
- Collaborates with Lead Teacher, Site Administrator, and staff.
- Documents attendance, absences, transitions, minor discipline issues, and incidents.
- Maintains classroom appearance and manages supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Reports and disinfects broken or unsafe toys and equipment per state regulations.
- Follows Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) guidelines.
- Communicates effectively with parents through verbal and written reports, and conducts conferences as needed.
- Understands child abuse and neglect laws, following proper reporting procedures.
- Handles discipline promptly and documents any concerns or special needs.
- Ensures cleanliness of the childcare and program areas.
- Maintains appropriate adult-to-child ratios.
- Fills in for other classrooms when necessary.
- Participates in parent events, family programs, staff meetings, and trainings.
- Completes required screenings and assessments on time.
- Maintains records for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
- Reports concerns or incidents to supervisor promptly.
- Possesses a safe driving record and the ability to transport children safely.
- Willing to work during summer months and Day Camp.
- Protects confidential information of participants, families, and staff.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED; an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Six months of experience in early childhood preferred.
