Job summary

Obsolete Site is seeking dedicated Child and Youth Program Assistants to support developmentally appropriate activities for ages 6 weeks through 18 years at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. You will supervise children, implement prepared curricula, ensure safety, manage field trips, and assist with meals, immunization compliance, and daily routines in a military-family setting.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Provides appropriate developmental care and instruction for children and youth, ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years in Child and Youth Services (CYS) programs.
Actively supervises and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth during daily routines, indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings, and special events.
Assists in implementing planned, developmentally appropriate activities, schedules, and routines for children/youth using prepared curriculum, activity plans, and materials which includes group and individual activities.
Helps arrange for or serve appropriate snacks or meals.
Identifies and responds to emergency situations including evacuations, child/youth illness, and physical and emotional needs.
