Job summary

The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare, Division of Youth Safety & Permanency, Caldwell field office is seeking a Human Services Supervisor to provide supervision and leadership to a Client Service Technician team. The role works within programs serving youth, families, and child welfare, ensuring safety, permanency and well-being for children in the welfare system.

Responsibilities include planning work, prioritizing cases, and guiding staff to meet practice standards.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of supervisory practices. Includes directing, monitoring, and assigning work.
• Knowledge of community organization/development principles through coursework or related roles.
• Experience in social services delivery or case management, or CADC certification, with focus on family systems and welfare services.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize work and assign referrals to Client Service Technicians according to worker competence and case needs.
• Determine case priorities and ensure quality of work performed.
• Direct practice and provide consultation to ensure standards are met within family-centered welfare services.
• Arrange for clinical consultation and oversight when appropriate for department child welfare cases.
• Monitor, review, and approve written work, including case contacts.
• Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback on an ongoing basis.
• Sample and evaluate cases for adherence to standards and compliance with laws.
• Conduct staff meetings and provide technical oversight of program policies, goals and procedures.
• May perform direct work with clients and families, including transporting and supervising visits.
