Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Indiana County seeks a County Caseworker 1 to support children, youth, and families, guiding toward safer paths. You will work with care and respect within a dedicated team and receive communications via email for the hiring process.

The role requires 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30-minute lunch, on-call duties, and no telework. PA residency is waived for this title. Equal employment opportunity is upheld by the Commonwealth.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college coursework including 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; or
• A bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 credits in social sciences and one year of paraprofessional case management experience.

Responsibilities

• Family Support: Improve safety, stability, and well-being for children, youth, and families
• Information Gathering: Collect details to help families access services
• Case Documentation: Maintain accurate records per regulations, policies, and procedures
• Resource Coordination: Link individuals to community supports and services
• Child Welfare Services: Guide abused or neglected children toward healthier development
• Skill Development: Encourage emotional and behavioral growth for children and adolescents

Education

12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

Bachelor's degree including 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

Equivalent combination of experience and training with 12 credits in social sciences and paraprofessional case management experience
