Qualifications

• Educational requirements include 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• A bachelor's degree with 12 related credits is acceptable, or equivalent combinations of education and paraprofessional case management experience.
• Applicants may meet requirements within two months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Assist children, youth, and families to improve safety, stability, and well-being.
• Collect necessary information to help families access services.
• Maintain accurate case records according to regulations and policies.
• Connect individuals to community supports and services.
• Provide guidance to abused or neglected children for healthier development.
• Support emotional and behavioral growth in children and adolescents.

Education

Bachelors degree + 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or criminal justice; or related social sciences

12 college credits in social sciences + 1 year of County Social Services Aide 3 experience
