The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania – Westmoreland County Child Welfare is seeking a County Caseworker 1 to support families in achieving stability and hope. You will join a dedicated team focused on improving the lives of children and youth, with training and close supervision to grow your skills.

This full-time position focuses on helping children, youth, families, and individuals with various challenges, with flexibility to telework part-time after six months and to report to the Greensburg, PA

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; or
• Bachelor’s degree including 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; or
• Equivalent combination including 12 college credits and one year of paraprofessional case management experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend agency training programs to build knowledge of social service methods and procedures
• Provide basic case management assistance to children, youth, families, and individuals with special needs
• Carry out assigned tasks under close supervision while gaining skills and confidence
• Maintain records and review materials as directed by supervisors
• Engage in reading, meetings, and conferences to strengthen understanding of agency expectations
