Job summary

The State of South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking a CWS Case Worker Assistant in Colleton County to provide daily support to the Child Welfare Services team. You will assist with transportation, family searches, and engagement efforts, and collaborate with county workers on adoptions, visits, and court matters.

Responsibilities include performing administrative tasks per DSS Policy, maintaining confidentiality of Personal Identifying Information, and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; related clerical, administrative, social work or business experience preferred.
• Associate Degree with some related experience acceptable.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher may substitute for required experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists CWS Case Managers with transportation, family searches, and engagement.
• Collaborates with adoption staff to transport children to visitations, placements, court hearings and medical appointments.
• Performs administrative tasks in line with DSS Policy and GPS Practice Model to support families and partners.
• Engages families and professionals with empathy and support.
• Completes necessary training for regional support tasks.
• Maintains PIIs securely and protects agency networks and data.
• Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duties as directed.
• Assists with other relevant duties as assigned.
