Leech Lake Band Of Ojibwe seeks a dedicated Social Worker to provide comprehensive case management for children and families involved in the Child Welfare system. The role aims to prevent or reverse child removal and promote safety, well‑being, and permanency in a stable home.

Responsibilities include crisis response, creating and monitoring case plans, and collaborating with community programs to support parenting skills and culturally relevant services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Associate’s degree considered if working toward a Bachelor’s within two years.
• Three letters of recommendation required from outside this division.
• Experience with Native American children and families preferred.
• Knowledge of Leech Lake tribal codes related to child welfare is required or willingness to learn.

Responsabilités

• Be on call to respond to crisis situations within the community as needed.
• Manage a potentially high client caseload within the Leech Lake Reservation boundaries.
• Develop and monitor case plans with families to achieve goals.
• Provide support and motivation to families to reach their goals.
• Work with families on parenting issues and referrals as needed.
• Collaborate with programs/resources to strengthen family structure and values.
