Job summary

Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking a part-time Child Watch Lead to supervise daily operations for children aged 4 months to 12 years. You will train staff, enforce safety policies, manage check-in/check-out, and plan activities that support physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.

The role requires strong communication and teamwork, plus a patient, energetic approach. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience with children; teaching experience a plus.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptable in a group setting.
• CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily Child Watch operations and staff.
• Train new Child Watch team members and enforce policies.
• Oversee check-in/check-out procedures and safety.
• Develop developmentally appropriate activities for children.
• Maintain clean, safe space and report needs to directors.
