Job summary

The City of Pflugerville is seeking a Child Watch Team Member at the Monarch Recreation Center to provide safe, engaging care for children from 3 months to 9 years while guardians use the facility. The role supports daily operations of the Child Watch area, supervises play, maintains a clean environment, and delivers customer service.

Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years old and enrolled in high school or have completed high school/GED.
Adult and Child CPR and Standard First Aid certification required within 6 months of hire.
Babysitting Basics Certification provided during on-the-job training.
Two years of babysitting or child watch experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety and well-being of children, monitor activities, and encourage age-appropriate play.
Clean and disinfect toys, equipment, and surfaces; maintain orderly play areas.
Verify guardianship, manage sign-in/sign-out procedures, and maintain required documents.
Provide courteous customer service, answer questions, and report concerns to the Child Watch Lead.
Follow emergency protocols, standards, and facility rules.
Remain reachable via cell phone for job-related issues or emergencies using City apps.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
