Job summary

Armed Services YMCA National Headquarters in Texas is seeking a part-time Child Watch Staff to provide a safe, caring, and enriching environment for children enrolled in the ASYMCA Child Watch Program. You will greet families by name, follow ASYMCA policies, and maintain accurate attendance records.

The role requires First Aid/CPR Certification, background checks, and completion of ASYMCA safety training; schedule includes Day/Night shifts, Mon-Fri and weekends, with a 25-hour weekly expectation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Six months or more previous experience with children preferred; have a positive attitude and follow directions.
• Ability to plan and initiate age appropriate games and activities; adjust from sitting to standing with ease.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to ASYMCA policies and procedures; follow training and notes; meet program standards and safety procedures.
• Acknowledge parents and children by name; greet families with warmth.
• Maintain open communication with staff and director; respond to parents input and concerns.
• Be available to substitute; create new and exciting programs including special events.
• Maintain a sanitized environment; clean toys and surfaces; follow duties assigned.
• Ensure staff and children are respectful of ASYMCA property and enforce CW rules.
• Maintain attendance and emergency information records for each child.
• Present a professional appearance and manners; comply with check and balances system for daily cleanup.
