The City of Maricopa is seeking a Recreation Aide – Child Watch to supervise children, plan activities, and ensure safety within the facility. You will follow established safety protocols, assist with daily operations, and communicate with parents.

The role supports park and recreation services and may involve rotating to other areas as needed. Qualifications include being at least 16 years old, 6 months in childcare, and availability for weekends/evenings/holidays.

Qualificações

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age or older.
• Six (6) months’ experience working in the care of children.
• Position requires working flexible hours and availability for weekend, evening and holiday work.

Responsabilidades

• Provides a safe and fun environment for children and parents/guardians.
• Assist with daily operations such as opening/closing the program area and check-in/out.
• Ability to activate and execute the Emergency Action Plan.
• Develop and coordinate daily and weekly activities.
• Supervise children of varying ages and developmental levels.
• Manage challenging behaviors using age-appropriate guidance and positive behavior techniques.
• Guide facility patrons on park, facility rules, care of equipment, and conduct.
• Communicate with parents/guardians when there is a need.
• Answer Child Watch telephone and radio calls.
• Complete and report accidents or injuries.
• Communicate with lead/supervisor about supplies and materials needed.
• Develop positive relationships with customers.
• Provide routine information on rules and activities to participants and the public.
• Assist with housekeeping and sanitation of the area; handle exposure to bodily fluids per safety guidelines.
• Assist in training and mentoring new Recreation Aides.
• Assist in other areas of the facility including Service Desk and Fitness areas.
• May be rotated or transferred to other facilities; perform related duties as needed.
