Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Paralegal education or related legal studies may substitute for some education requirements.
• Experience in child support enforcement, accounting, legal, or social work may satisfy I/II level prerequisites.
• ABA-approved paralegal program may meet qualification criteria.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and evaluate child support cases for establishment or enforcement actions.
• Prepare records of payment, legal pleadings, and correspondence.
• Update computer records and document case activity.
• Negotiate settlements and agreed orders.
• Mediate issues between parties in child support matters.
• Monitor case logs and other assigned duties.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Associate's degree in Legal Assistance or paralegal

Associate's degree in Public Service - Legal Case Management

American Bar Association-approved paralegal program

Bachelor's degree + 1 year professional experience in related field

Master's degree

Juris Doctorate

Associate's degree + 2 years professional experience

Paralegal program + 2 years professional experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience with added year for bachelor's equivalency
