Job summary

WV Department of Human Services in McDowell County is seeking an entry-level Caseworker for a paid training capacity. You will be guided through formal classroom and on-the-job training to become familiar with Child Support Laws, policies and services of the Bureau of Child Support Enforcement (BCSE).

The role starts with supervision and progress monitoring as you learn to manage a caseload. Expect a 12-month probationary period and potential vehicle availability as part of the role; completion

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of clerical or paraprofessional experience required.
• Substitution: 30 college credit hours may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform beginning-level case work in processing cases and local workflows.
• Respond to customer service inquiries and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Learn laws, regulations and procedures of the BCSE and assist with case development under supervision.
