Role Description

The Child Support Services Agent 2 is a full-time, on-site role located in Elberton, GA. This position is responsible for managing child support cases, including establishing, modifying, and enforcing child support orders in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Daily tasks include interviewing parties, gathering and verifying financial and demographic information, preparing and processing legal documents, and maintaining accurate case records in agency systems. The role involves frequent communication with custodial and non-custodial parents, attorneys, courts, and other agencies to resolve issues and support timely payments. The Agent 2 also attends hearings as needed, provides clear information about child support policies and procedures, and supports agency initiatives to improve service delivery and outcomes for families.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage casework, including organizing documentation, maintaining accurate records, and following established procedures and regulations.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse populations, conducting interviews, and explaining policies clearly in person, by phone, and in writing.
• Proficiency with office software and databases for data entry, document preparation, and case tracking; ability to learn state-specific systems.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn child support laws, regulations, and court processes; comfort working with legal documents and deadlines.
• Skills in conflict resolution, problem solving, and decision making, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• High school diploma or GED required; postsecondary coursework or degree in human services, social work, criminal justice, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in customer service, human services, legal, or government environments is beneficial, especially in roles involving direct client contact.
• Ability to work on-site in Elberton, GA, collaborate with team members, and adapt to changing priorities and caseloads.
