Job summary

Sioux Falls School District is seeking a Cook for the Child Nutrition program. This role prepares meals, maintains production records, and ensures sanitation per SD guidelines. A high school diploma is required; vocational training in chef training or related field is desirable.

Valid SD driver's license and ability to lift 50 pounds are needed. Working hours are 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, 40 hours per week, 9 months. Level GX pay starts at $19.92 per hour with monthly pay.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cooked foods such as main dishes, vegetables, sauces and gravies.
• Keeps production records for preparation and serving of all food used.
• Washes all small equipment after completion of task and in accordance with South Dakota sanitation and health guidelines.
• Adjusts recipes for varying quantities.
• Keeps work area clean with guidelines of South Dakota sanitation health regulations.
• Stores leftover food according to proper storage and safety procedures.
• Evaluates menu items for product standards.
• Follows safety procedures in the use of all equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High school diploma

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Refer to physical demand summary. Post-offer drug screening and physical (funded by the District) required prior to starting position.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Vocational training desirable in chef's training or any associate degree program in a related field. Valid South Dakota driver's license. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

PAY INFORMATION
