Job summary

Sioux Falls School District is seeking a dedicated Cafeteria Manager I to lead our Child Nutrition operations. In this role you will supervise and train staff, manage food orders and inventory, ensure safety and sanitation, and serve students with quality meals.

Work hours are 5:30am–1:30pm, 1.0 FTE across 9 months, with a starting pay of $24.46 per hour. Applicants must have a high school diploma and 1–3 years of related experience; active training through CANS is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists in training and scheduling staff.
• Orders all food and equipment.
• Receives and stores food and supplies.
• Assists in production as needed.

• Adheres to District guidelines.
• Liaison between students, teachers and building administration.
• Evaluates staff.
• Performs lunchbox duties as needed.
• Completes daily deposits.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High school diploma

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

One to three years' experience in similar position

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Post-offer physical (funded by the District) required prior to starting position. Requires constant hearing, hand-eye coordination, mind-eye coordination; intermittent keyboarding, sitting and lifting. Frequent repetitive motions with wrists, hands, fingers, standing, walking, and carrying.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Required to attend certification courses offered by CANS before or after hiring. Previous institutional quantity preparation of food service experience 1 to 3 years preferred.

Pay Day: Last working day of each month.
