Job summary

Arkansas Children’s NICU leadership role in Child Life, Education, and Creative Arts is seeking a full‑time supervisor to oversee students and staff. The position covers clinical services, family support, and development programs in a high‑intensity pediatric setting. Monday‑Friday 8am‑4:30pm.

Required: Bachelor's degree; Master’s preferred; 4 years in a related field with 1 year in leadership; certifications include CCLS, MT‑BC, or AR Teacher License.

• Gathers psychosocial needs of patients and families via meetings and staff input.
• Delivers clinical services planning, emotional support, and discharge planning.
• Provides developmental activities and group interventions for patients/families.
• Maintains safe play areas with proper supplies and attendance tracking.

Description

1. Gathers information and document the psychosocial needs of patients and families through patient/family meeting, nursing report and consultation with medical staff.

2. Ensures patients and families receive appropriate clinical services, medical plan, prepare families for medical events, assist with hospitalization and diagnosis, emotional support and discharge planning.

3. Provides patients and families with developmental services including group activities and interventions.

4. Maintains safe environment with appropriate materials and supplies to make it conducive to play with documented attendance and interventions.

5. Supervises, orients, and trains volunteers and Interns to provide quality interactions with patients.

6. Assists Manager with department goals, action plans, new employee orientation, training, serving on committees, and all HR activities.

7. Supervises department staff delegating patient care services, projects, research, volunteer supervision and committee appointments.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.
