Job summary

Bethany Christian Services is seeking a Medical Coordinator to arrange and coordinate health services for children in care, maintain confidential medical records, and liaise with case managers and clinicians. The role involves scheduling appointments, arranging transportation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The position requires at least one year in public health or healthcare, a health-related qualification or bachelor’s degree, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in public health or healthcare with care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care.
• LPN/LVN or RN with bachelor’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Bilingual Spanish/English fluency preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass required medical examinations and have the physical ability to fulfill essential job functions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a Bethany vehicle.
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with insurance.
• Criminal history screen including state and local child protection registries.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and coordinate health services for children in care, including scheduling appointments and transportation.
• Maintain and manage medical records and communicate health needs to case managers and clinicians.
• Formulate treatment authorization requests and liaise with insurance providers.
• Provide resources and reports upon discharge to stakeholders.
• Ensure documentation and filing compliance with agency and licensing forms.
• May participate in on-call to assist shelter care staff after hours.
• Stay updated on agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
