You will help identify developmental needs, coordinate services, and develop individualized plans while connecting families to providers and resources. Responsibilities include facilitating IFSP meetings, reviewing six-month and annual plans, and documenting progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of or ability to develop an understanding of children ages 0–3 with developmental delays or disabilities.
  • One year of related experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, service providers, and community partners.

Job description

Position Summary
The Child Development Specialist works with children ages 0–3 and their families through the Birth to Three and Family Support programs. This position helps families identify their child’s developmental needs, coordinates services and supports, develops individualized plans, and connects families with appropriate providers and community resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Birth to Three team and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings.
  • Assist families in identifying strengths, needs, goals, and appropriate services.
  • Develop and coordinate IFSPs, including six-month and annual reviews.
  • Coordinate evaluations, assessments, medical services, and other supports.
  • Monitor children’s progress and the delivery of services.
  • Connect families with service providers, advocacy resources, and community programs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case documentation.
  • Assist families with transition planning as children prepare to exit the Birth to Three program.
  • Collaborate with families, service providers, school districts, and community partners.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable Birth to Three, Part C, HFS 90, and program requirements.
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development.
