Job summary

Shasta Head Start Child Development is seeking a Child Development Coordinator to ensure high-quality early education services at the Administration Office in Redding, CA. Under the Child Development Manager, you will implement policies and guide staff to deliver excellence for children and families.

You will coordinate training, monitor services, maintain records, and liaise with licensing authorities, state partners, and the community to support child growth and family well-being.

Qualifications

• Minimum: AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, including 12 ECE core units
• Desired: BA Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, including 6 (2+ unit) ECE classes
• Minimum: Two years related experience required
• Desired: Four years related experience
• Child Development Permit or ability to obtain one within one year of hire
• Knowledge of Community Care Licensing Regulations for early childhood settings
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power-Point, Publisher, and Child Plus
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations
• Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals
• Ability to effectively present information to groups and regulatory agencies

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the Shasta Head Start child development program, systems, and services
• Coordinate and provide training, and guidance to staff, parents, and community on child education and development
• Assist in on-going monitoring, tracking, and analysis of child development services and outcomes
• Maintain record keeping and reporting systems, schedules, and timelines for services
• Communicate with staff, parents, program managers, consultants, and community to enhance services
• Collaborate with state and community partners to enhance services and ensure smooth transitions
• Order supplies and materials for service delivery
• Liaise between Shasta Head Start and CA CCC to ensure licensing compliance
• Support departments in licensing and accreditation requirements
• Maintain the agency substitute line
