Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Human Services seeks a County Caseworker 2 in Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration to support early childhood development and help families promote recovery and independence for the youngest community members.

You will perform early screening, family coordination, and service linking while coordinating with guardians and professionals. Full-time schedule, weekday hours, telework not available.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
• Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
• A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
• A bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training with 12 college credits in the listed disciplines
• Educational requirements may be met within two months of graduation

Responsibilities

• Early Screening: Conduct screenings to identify developmental delays in infants and toddlers
• Family Coordination: Work with families to track progress and plan needed services
• Service Support: Assist families in locating and obtaining early intervention resources
• Collaborative Planning: Coordinate with guardians and professionals to support each child
• Progress Tracking: Monitor developmental outcomes and adjust plans as needed
• Support Linking: Connect individuals to helpful services, resources, and benefits

Education

Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major

Bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

Bachelor's degree plus one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

Educational requirements met within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits
